The attack of 7 October 2023 by the Palestinian terrorist organization Hamas and the worldwide consequences of the resulting war have once again highlighted the problems associated with migration. Experts warn of the failure of integration efforts in Europe and the United States. In major Western european cities, crowds of thousands protested chanting anti-Semitic slogans, while on US university campuses foreign students harassed and insulted their Jewish peers. These pro-Palestinian/anti-Israeli manifestations can often be explained by cultural transfers linked to the immigrants' countries of origin.

The round table discussion will explore the cultural consequences of immigration from third-world countries. What can Western societies do to better integrate immigrants who come from completely different cultural backgrounds? What are the main challenges? These questions will be answered by Dr. Nayla Rush, Senior Research Fellow at the Center for Immigration Studies in Washington DC, and Dr. Kristóf György Veres, Senior Research Fellow at the Danube Institute.
