The recently published Hungarian translation of Michael Shellenberger's bestseller Apocalypse Never: Why Environmental Alarmism Hurts Us All was presented in the framework of an exclusive discussion organized by Mathias Corvinus Collegium (MCC) and the Climate Policy Institute. Michael Shellenberger is an environmental activist, one of the most influential, multi-award-winning environmental writers in the United States who is also an expert for the UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). Together with the now-published Hungarian translation, Shellenberger's book has been translated into sixteen languages so far. The Hungarian edition was co-published by Gingko Kiadó and MCC Press and launched on 15 November.

On 1 March, the German-Hungarian Institute at MCC hosted Her Excellency Julia Gross, Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany. As part of the "Ambassador Talk" series of events, Ambassador Gross gave an account of her work and an insight into her personal career path from graduation to her arrival in Budapest in September 2022. The event was attended by more than 100 MCC students. After a welcome address by Bence Bauer, Director of the institute, Ms. Gross gave an introductory presentation on the current political situation affecting both countries and European cooperation. Ambassador Gross described the international situation as a turning point in history. We are at a turning point, unity in the EU is the key to successful action. But unity should not be confused with uniformity.

Two days, two trials, seven lectures and fourteen experts: the MCC Center for International Law organized the Spring field trip to Luxembourg. MCC law students from Budapest, Pécs, Debrecen and Transylvania participated in the field trip to learn about the structure, composition, and competence of the Court of Justice of the European Union and also to understand its complex role, which textbooks cannot reveal. One of the key lessons MCC students has learned is that they did not visit a remote or abstract institution but instead a Court that has enormous impacts on their communities as well as on their own lives but which they can later shape themselves.
