Géza Dobó graduated from the Faculty of Law at the University of Miskolc in 1997 and later obtained his bar qualification at the Ministry of Justice. He began his professional career in the legal department of a multinational telecommunications company (now Digi), where he contributed to developing the legal and contractual framework for telecommunications liberalization. Subsequently, as an independent attorney, he primarily provided comprehensive legal representation for a Hungarian-owned GPS logistics company, while also collaborating with partners in Croatia, Serbia, and Bosnia and Herzegovina to establish and manage branch networks. He earned a postgraduate degree as an international human rights expert from the Faculty of Science at Eötvös Loránd University (ELTE). In addition to his legal career, he worked as a freelance journalist for various publications and was employed full-time for a brief period at Index. He joined the Migration Research Institute in December 2021. His research focuses on the Western Balkans, legal issues related to migration and EU and international organizations, as well as developing modern border-crossing systems for border security agencies to address the challenges posed by illegal migration.
