András Csúri obtained his doctorate at the University of Szeged and later worked as a research fellow at the Max Planck Institute in Freiburg, as well as at the law faculties of the Universities of Vienna and Utrecht. He joined the MCC in 2022. His main research interests are comparative criminal law, EU criminal law, and juvenile justice. He has taught and continues to teach these subjects at several universities across Europe. In recent years, his academic work has focused on EU criminal law integration and judicial cooperation in criminal matters. His studies have been published in prestigious journals, including the Cambridge Yearbook of European Legal Studies and the Zeitschrift für die gesamte Strafrechtswissenschaft. He is co-editor of the journal eucrim and co-author, alongside Professor John Spencer, of the chapter on EU criminal law in the Oxford University Press textbook European Union Law (Barnard and Peers, 2020). His research has been supported by prominent institutions such as the Austrian Academy of Sciences, the DAAD, the OeAD, and the Max-Planck-Gesellschaft. He has also been invited as a visiting researcher at the University of Cambridge Law School on multiple occasions.
