Born in 1976 in Budapest. He graduated in history and political theory from Eötvös Lóránd University in Budapest in 2000. In 2008, he defended his doctoral thesis summa cum laude on the Irish national struggles of the 20th century in the doctoral programme on modern and contemporary universal history at ELTE. In addition to his university studies, he has pursued further studies in the field of security policy: between 1997 and 1998 he participated in a one-year course on defence and security policy at the Manfred Wörner Foundation in Budapest. His research and final thesis was on the future security environment in Europe. In 2006 he participated in a two-month training course on East Asian security at the Beijing National Defence University. He started his career as a security policy adviser in the State Secretariat for Security and Defence Policy of the Prime Minister's Office in 1999. From 2002 to 2010, he worked as a desk officer in the Defence Policy Department of the Ministry of Defence. From 2010 to 2012, he was Head of the Defence Planning Department of the Ministry of Defence. From 2012 to 2014 he was Head of the Defence Policy Section at the Permanent Representation of Hungary to NATO in Brussels. In 2018, he published his book Máglyatűz (Bonfire), a fictional history of ethnic and geopolitical conflicts in Central and Eastern Europe. Further editions of the book were published in late 2018 and 2019. He has been a regular contributor to Mandiner since 2018. In 2005 and 2009 he was awarded the Order of Honour for Defence of the Homeland, III and then II Class, and in 2014 he was honoured by President János Áder on the occasion of the 15th anniversary of Hungarian NATO membership in recognition of his work in NATO. He speaks English and French.
