Dr. Daniel Höltgen is the Director of Communications at the Council of Europe, a position he has held since 2010. He has previously worked in senior positions for the German government and European Union. Daniel’s professional experience covers a range of sectors including human rights, interior affairs, fighting antisemitism, interfaith dialogue as well as transportation and aviation safety. He has worked extensively on crisis communications. Daniel is British and German and has a Ph.D. from the University of Cambridge and holds a diploma from the Catholic School of journalism in Munich.
